FINALLY got a tripod...
Yay! I finally got a tripod this weekend at target and now I don't have to take blurry pictures in my work bathroom! :) I rearranged my room a little bit and now I have my own little nook for taking pictures...
I wear this banana republic skirt with everything... the high waist is perfect for tucking in silk camis and covering up with a cardigan. Today I wore it with a floral jcrew cami and jcrew long cardigan. The cami and sweater are also great to wear on weekends with skinny jeans and brown riding boots (once it starts getting a little cooler), and I usually wear the top belted to give me some definition in the waist.

double header
First off, let me say that I have a slight obsession with dvf dresses... the dresses have the most unique prints, are comfortable and are a complete, stylish outfit in one piece of clothing. I wore one of my favorite summer dvf dresses today because it was going to be so hot outside... turns out my office had the A/C blasting all day and I was freezing! Oh well I guess, at least I looked cute! :)
Dress: Diane Von Fursterberg
I didn't have time to post my outfit yesterday, so I figured I'd add it on to today's post. I had a wonderful evening at my boyfriend's house eating pasta and drinking wine... he was nice enough to take an outfit pic for me! I love this jcrew skirt and the fit is amazing, but I'm having trouble finding stuff to go with it... I paired it with an amber colored sweater yesterday, but am struggling finding other things to go with it. I was thinking maybe a cream color sweater, but that just seems so boring... I guess I'd have to spice it up with some bold jewelry.

i heart dresses
I usually hate ordering clothes online and would much prefer trying clothes on in person, but unfortunately this jcrew dress was online only... so I took the plunge and ordered.
I got lucky and loved the dress in real life! It has a halter style top with a deep v in the back and little shimmery threads throughout. I covered up with a cardigan for work, but will probably wear the dress alone on weekends. I paired it with a light purple cardigan, but there are so many different colors in the dress that lots of cardigans would go well (olive green, amber, dark brown).
Here is a detailed pic of the print:
Sorry these pics are so blurry... must get tripod...

This dress was a great find at Nordstrom at a very reasonable price point. It is a polyester type of fabric, but was just too cute to pass up. I paired the dress with purple peep toe heels and a gold chain necklace.
I plan on pairing it with jewel tone camis underneath (its a little too low for work) and maybe some colored tights with boots come fall.

channeling michelle o
Ever since I saw this skirt on Michelle Obama in Vogue it was love a first sight! Months later my local store finally got the skirt in...
The skirt is so gorgeous in real life and a perfect addition to any fall wardrobe. I paired it with a coral cami and cream sweater, but I am imagining also wearing it with light pinks and different shades of brown to pick up the colors in the skirt. Below is a more detailed pic of all the colors in the skirt:
Skirt: Jcrew blushed tweed pencil skirt
Cami: Scattered petals cami in bright payaya
Sweater: Jcrew (forget the name)

straight outta the jcrew catalog
So I started this blog mainly to document my daily outfits, but that is fairly hard without a full length mirror in your bedroom or a tripod... hence the work bathroom pics... so please bear with me for the time being...
First off, let me start by saying that I love the color of this skirt! The picture doesn't do it justice! I paired it with a grey patterned cami and black sweater today, but have so many different outfits planned for it in the future... I'm imagining pairing it mainly with greys, navys, creams and beiges.
The cami is also incredibly versatile and can be paired with my pencil skirts on the weekdays and with jeans on the weekend - my favorite type of clothing item!

lola
I just finished my bottle of Hanae Mori and was on the lookout for a new perfume... I had seen the ads for the new perfume from Marc Jacobs called Lola and went to Bloomingdales after work today to try it on.
I'm not really good at describing scents, so I'll just post the description: "The fragrance contains top notes of pink peppercorn, ruby red grapefruit, and pear d’anjou, with fuchsia peony, rose, and geranium serving as the middle notes, and vanilla, tonka bean, and creamy musk as the bottom notes."
It's not the usual sweet scented perfume that I'm used to, but I love it! Not to mention the beautiful bottle!
I managed to get the very last bottle from the Century City store too! :)
